Highly distinctive and exceptionally elegant, the Alocasia Zebrina is a true statement plant.

Everything about this plant is eye-catching, from its bold, arrow-shaped leaves to the spectacular black and white stripes along its stems.

Native to South East Asia, the Alocasia Zebrina is used to a warm, humid environment and plenty of bright, indirect, light. It is quite sensitive to cold so try and keep it somewhere warm and draught free (just make sure this isn’t near your radiator as that will cause it to crisp up).

Alocasia like their soil to be lightly moist, but you should still wait until the top inch or two of soil has dried out before you think about watering. You should soon begin to notice when your Zebrina is thirsty as all its leaves will begin to droop slightly.

When it comes to watering, if you want your Zebrina to really love you, pop it in the shower or bath in its nursery pot and give it a good covering with lukewarm water; this effectively recreates its tropical habitat and will leave it with wonderfully bright and glossy foliage.
