Purchase Ledger with Garden Store

Hillview Garden Centres Ltd was created in 2011 and currently operates eleven garden centres across middle England under the Garden Store brand. Our goal is to have the best local garden centres offering fresh, top quality plants and more at affordable prices. We also stock a wide range of gardening supplies and seasonal products along with food, giftware, products for the home and treats for you. Our cafes and Soft Play Barns are popular attractions that have successfully introduced many new customers to the sites.

Our Retail Support Centre looks after the financial administration for our stores and provides an essental service to all stores. These positions are in the team which receives purchase invoices and matches them to goods received at stores via our EPOS system. We also take care of supplier queries by phone and email, reconcile statements and share in the general office duties.

We acquired two additional centres in the last few months and are now looking for 2 people to join this team on a full or part time basis. Experience of EPOS and/or Sage would be beneficial but Excel and Word experience are essential. This is a small team so flexibility, a willingness to learn and a happy demeanour are crucial.

Location is Mappleborough Green within Studley Garden Centre (the one on the roundabout!).

Flexible hours, normally Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work if required.

Flexible contracts between 16 and 40 hours are available.

Catering Assistant – Part Time

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking people to join our happy established team.

This is a hands on role working in all areas of the cafe, serving customers hot drinks, taking food orders, cash handling and of course you will have excellent customer care at all times.

Previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage, however not essential, as full training will be given.

Shipley Garden Store

We are looking for enthusiastic and hardworking people to join our team at Shipley in the following roles:-

Plant Area Assistant (seasonal) up to 40 hours per week. Previous experience and good plant knowledge is required as you will be assisting the team with all day to day duties including, but not limited to, plant care, stoneware and compost which will involve some heavy lifting.

Indoor Shop Assistant & Till Operator up to 22 hours per week. Duties include woking across all departments and till areas and ideally you will have a good eye for merchandising and display.

Aquatics Assistant up to 22 hours per week. Previous aquatic knowledge is desirable and an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.

The above positions will require weekend working on a rota basis.

If you are outgoing with a happy, positive attitude, you may be the ideal person to join our team. For all departments, previous retail experience and good customer service skills are essential. Above all, we are looking for someone with a friendly, helpful attitude.

Studley Garden Store

Cook - Part Time

We have a position available to work in our busy kitchen at Studley Garden Store. Duties to include cooking specials and food to order, making scones, vegetable prep, preparing sauces etc. Hours available between 8am and 5.30pm over 7 days a week. 

Kitchen Assistant - Part Time

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to work in our busy Cafe. A basic knowledge and interest is essential. The job will be based in our busy kitchen and you must be able to work in a pressured environment. Previous experience in a commercial kitchen would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given. A friendly, helpful attitude is vital in this role.

Cafe Sales Assistant - Part Time (Weekends)

We are looking for a Cafe Sales Assistant to serve on the Cafe counter and till so previous experience would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given. A friendly, helpful attitude is vital in this role.

Soft Play Barn Assistant - Part Time (Weekends)

We are looking for a Soft Play Barn Assistant to work with our team at Studley. This role is focused on customer service as you will be covering the Soft Play Barn counter and till. Previous experience would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given. A friendly, helpful attitude is vital in this role.

Plant Sales Assistant - Part Time (Weekends)

We are looking for a Plant Sales Assistant who, ideally has previous retail experience and excellent customer service skills. Basic plant knowledge is essential. In our busy Plant Area, you will be assisting the team with day to day duties and will also be expected to help at the tills and assist customer with heavy purchases which may include lifting bags of compost and gravel etc.

Front of House Coffee Shop Assistant - Part Time (Weekends)

Hilltop Garden Store

Shop Manager (Garden Centre)

Hilltop Garden Store is looking for a new manager to join the team. Your particular responsibility will be to manage all shop departments. You will therefore have a good knowledge of the Garden Care, Houseplant and Gift Categories. Experience of all other garden centre departments is an advantage. As part of the senior team you will be Store Duty Manager several days a week and manage a small team. Following recent refurbishment the store turnover is growing well and we have high expectations going forward.

Cafe Manager

This is a full time position with no evening work and working alternate weekends. You will be responsible for all aspects of daily running of our cafe, working alongside our Regional Catering Manager.

Outdoor Retail Assistant – Full Time

We are looking for a full time retail assistant, with previous retail experience and good customer service skills.

You will be involved mainly, but not exclusively, in our busy outdoor Plant Area and will be assisting the team with all day to day duties, including, but not limited, to plant care, stoneware, compost and tills.  Ideally you will have a good plant knowledge.

You will need to be fit as lifting is involved with compost, hard landscaping products. Fork lift truck license ideally.

This is a full time position working on a 6/4 rota, you will be working alternate weekends and have a fixed day off in the week.
